New government inaugurated in Argentina

People are back celebrating in the Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires, which is famous in much of the world as the place were Evita Perón addressed the crowds from the balcony back in the day. A new government was sworn in for Argentina yesterday, with President Alberto Fernández and Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who served as President 2007-2015 and was the first woman elected President in South America. Alberto and Cristina are both Peronists. But they don't use the balcony for speeches these days, they put up a stage in front of it. As the first few minutes of this video shows, lots of people turned up. En vivo desde Plaza de Mayo. Democracia para siempre. Patria para todxs. 11.12.2019:

The previous government of Mauricio Macri was voted out after four years of applying officially respectable, orthodox economic policies (cutting government services, privatizing public property, deregulation, etc.) which turned out to mean four years of economic disaster and lower standards of living for the majority of the country. Macri did make history though, as heading the first non-Peronist government in Argentina since 1928 to serve out its full term, the others having ended early due to social upheaval or military coups. The last military government in Argentina was ousted in 1983, and the new government is not happy with the coup regime that just overthrew the elected government next door in Bolivia.
