The case against Israel before the International Court of Justice will affect how people understand the lessons of the Holocaust

The complaint brought by South Africa before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) certainly complicates Israel’s use of the Holocaust as part of its reason of state and as a general justification for even Israel’s most dubious actions, not least of which is the current war on Gaza civilians which is turning into a wider Middle East war.
