Back in 2003, he authored a book called Mit Gott gegen alle: Amerikas Kampf um die Weltherrschaft, in which he analyzed the post-2001 situation and America's role in the world. Given the focus on neoliberalism, aka, the Washington Consensus, that has recently come more into focus in European and American news due to the protests in Chile and the disastrous economic policies of the outgoing government of Mauricio Macri in Argentina. And this quote from Pilz' book has held up well (my translation from German:
East Asia and Latin America at the same time received good [“good” meant ironically] advice from the USA and the IMF. They should follow the Washington Consensus point by point. Brazil, Argentina and Mexico implemented the program. The success was striking: poverty and unemployment, capital flight, recession. At the end of the neoliberal cure a small group was rich like never before. The states themselves were ruined economically. Once wealthy countries like Brazil and Argentina strikingly approached the economic level of Albania. People are starving again.
