National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan just gave a major speech on economic and international policy that on its face signals a major shift in emphasis from the old neoliberal orthodoxy of privatization, deregulation, austerity in public services, and international trade treaties that further impose those policies.

He explicitly describes what he envisions as a “new Washington consensus.”
