Ghosts of Elections Future-Bloomberg edition

Since hand-wringing and gloom-and-doom seem to be the order of the day for Democratic leaning media commentators, here's a possible scenarios that is a bit more plausible than it was four years ago.

Democratic Presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg wins enough states to have a small majority in the Electoral College, despite unusually low turnout among African-Americans and union members in key Midwest states. The morning after, President Trump declares the results invalid due to what he describes as several million illegal aliens voting.

The Supreme Court upholds a special request from Attorney General William Barr to dismiss the electors from three states and replace them with independent appointees selected by Barr. The Electoral College officially selects Trump as President for a second term, with all the independent appointees voting for him.

Michael Bloomberg, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and DNC Chair Tom Perez hold a press conference to announce that in the 2022 cycle, the party will provide resources only to candidates that run in Republican primaries. "Participating in Republican primaries is the most practical way to uphold our institutions and reduce the polarization among Americans."

Pelosi declared, "This may be difficult for some in our party to accept. But we can't afford to insist that only we have all the answers. By campaigning as moderates within the Republican Party, we can more effectively reach voters that have previously not trusted us. We should remember that at the time of our party's founding by the great Thomas Jefferson, our party was officially the Democratc-Republican Party. But in fact, for its first few decades, it was normally called the Republican Party."

The press conference came to an abrupt end when ICE and FBI officials acting on behalf of the new Homeland Protection Special Task Foree headed by Rudi Giulani arrested Bloomberg, Pelosi, Schumer, and Perez.

The White House has authorized the press to report that all three will be charged with conspiring with Ukrainians and Latino leaders to tamper with the Presidential election.

President Trump tweeted, "The Democrat TRAITORS have been exposed as the Dirtbags they are. If Bill Barr isn't a Wimp, he will indict all for HI TREASON!!

Asked for comment on the developments, former Democratic Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg responded, "We need to strive to maintain hope as we look to imagine a new kind of unity based on innovation and dynamic action."
